A small cluster east of town
Willow Cabin is one of a handful of grey board-and-batten tiny homes set on open, grassy grounds off Noisy Falls Way, on the quieter eastern side of Gatlinburg. Hardwoods frame the lot, a stone wall runs below the cabin, and you can see a neighbouring tiny home across the lawn — this is a small compound, not a hideaway at the end of a track.
The location is practical rather than scenic. There’s no mountain view to speak of, and the Parkway is a drive, not a stroll. But a pizza place and a diner are a few minutes away, and the fire pit and garden on the grounds give you a reason to stay put once you’re in.
Four hundred square feet, used well
The footprint is genuinely tiny, and the layout makes the most of it. The main floor is one bright room: a teal sectional, an electric fireplace under a wall-mounted TV, and a kitchen with a stone-look island, an oven, a dishwasher and a stainless fridge. There’s even a washer and dryer, which matters on a longer stay.
Sleeping is split in two. A steep, open staircase climbs to a loft where a large bed sits under a low timber ceiling — lovely for adults who don’t mind ducking. Downstairs, a small room holds bunk beds. The listing allows up to six, but with one bathroom and this little floor space, it’s at its best for a couple, or a couple with two kids.
What the rate buys, and what it doesn’t
Outside is where Willow pays off. A covered porch with a ceiling fan and café lights looks onto a circle of Adirondack chairs and the fire pit — these grounds are shared with the neighbouring tiny homes, not private to Willow — plus a barbecue for cooking out. Pets are allowed, and parking is free on-site.
The trade-offs are real. There’s no hot tub, no view and no game room, and the price sits closer to a full-size cabin than to a budget stay. The loft stair is steep and open-sided, so small children and anyone unsteady on their feet need care. Come for a well-finished, dog-friendly base with a good fire; look elsewhere if you want the classic Smokies soak.
