Privacy policy
The short version: the site collects nothing about you by itself. Here is what that means in practice, and which outside services you do meet.

No accounts, no forms, no comments, no ads, and no cookies of our own. The only personal data we receive is what you choose to send us by email.

What we collect
When you read the site
Nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no login, no comment box, no contact form and no advertising on the site.
When you email us
We receive your email address and whatever you write. We use them only to read and answer your message, and to fix a page if you've reported an error. We don't add you to any list, and we don't sell or share your message or address.
Audience measurement
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It works without cookies and without an identifier that follows you from visit to visit. What we see are totals: pages viewed, the site that sent the visit, country and type of device. It can't tell us who you are. That's why there is no cookie banner here: there's nothing to consent to.
Cookies
Our pages don't set cookies, and the site's own code doesn't store anything in your browser. Cloudflare, our host, may set a strictly technical security cookie when it needs to filter automated traffic; it isn't used to follow you. Other sites you go to from here have their own rules (see below).
Outside services you meet on the site
A few things on the pages are loaded from other companies. When that happens, your browser connects to them directly, so they receive the usual technical data of any web request, such as your IP address.
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc., which handles every page request in order to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Maps. The map on each cabin page loads its map tiles from MapTiler, or from OpenStreetMap when MapTiler isn't available; the map on the home page loads tiles from OpenTopoMap. The maps load only when you scroll to them. MapTiler, OpenStreetMap Foundation, OpenTopoMap.
- Fonts. Our fonts are stored on our own server. Nothing is loaded from Google Fonts or another font service.
- Search. The site search runs on the site's own files. Your searches aren't sent to a search company.
When you click through to a partner
The cabin booking buttons go to Booking.com, the tour booking buttons to GetYourGuide (both are affiliate links, explained in the affiliate disclosure). "Directions" links open Google Maps. Once you're on those sites, they may set their own cookies and collect data under their own policies, which we don't control:
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you (in practice, only emails you've sent us), and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to [email protected]. We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
SM4B is based in France, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies. If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
Children
The site is written for adults planning a trip. We don't knowingly receive personal data from children; if a child has emailed us, write to us and we'll delete the message.
Changes
If the way the site handles data changes — a new service, a new feature — this page will be updated before it goes live, and the date at the top will change.
