How this site makes money, in plain English: which links pay us, how much it costs you (nothing extra), and what it never changes.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and book, the platform pays us a commission. You pay the same price as you would going there directly.
Which links pay us
- Booking.com. The "check availability" buttons on cabin pages go to the cabin's page on Booking.com. The link carries our affiliate ID, so if you book a stay after clicking, Booking.com pays us a commission.
- GetYourGuide. The booking buttons for tours and tickets on things-to-do pages go to GetYourGuide with our partner ID. If you book, GetYourGuide pays us a commission.
Those are the only two partners linked from the site today. If that changes, this page will be updated first.
What it costs you
Nothing extra. The platform pays the commission, and the price you see and pay on Booking.com or GetYourGuide is the same whether or not you arrived through our link.
What it never changes
- Which cabins we list. No cabin, owner, rental company or attraction pays to be on the site, or for a better write-up. How we choose cabins is on the About page.
- What we say. Every cabin page says who the cabin isn't for; every things-to-do page gives the catch. A commission doesn't soften either.
- Free things. Much of what we recommend — the national park, most trails, the scenic drives — earns us nothing, and we cover it the same way.
There are no ads on this site, no sponsored articles and no paid reviews.
How affiliate links are marked
On cabin and things-to-do pages, a note next to the booking buttons says they are affiliate links. In
the page code, every affiliate link carries rel="sponsored", the label search
engines use for paid links. Links to the park service, official sites and map directions
are ordinary links and pay us nothing.
Once you click through
You're on Booking.com's or GetYourGuide's site, under their terms and privacy policies. The booking, payment, cancellation and any refund are between you and them (and the property or operator), not this site. Our privacy policy links to theirs.
Why we tell you
Because you should know when a recommendation could earn someone money, and because US rules expect it: the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides ask publishers to disclose this kind of relationship clearly.
