Treehouse Grove is a cluster of timber treehouses raised on posts among pines and hardwoods outside Gatlinburg, and The Spruce is built for numbers. The trade-off is the same as elsewhere in the grove: this is shared woodland, not private acreage. The parking area sits right at the front and other treehouses share the grove, so expect neighbours rather than seclusion. Town and the national park are both within easy reach.
Board-and-batten walls, a boardwalk and the ridge
The approach sets the tone. A level timber boardwalk with wire-panel railings leads from the car straight onto the raised deck, where the board-and-batten siding, black-framed windows and a tree trunk rising beside the glass make it feel properly built into the woods. Woven-seat lounge chairs face out over the canopy, and in the gaps between the branches the forested ridges of the Smokies roll away — the listing’s mountain view is real, if framed by trees rather than wide open.
Inside, pale planked wood lines the walls and the vaulted ceilings. The bathroom shown has a stone-look vanity, a glass walk-in shower and grab rails, and the listing flags facilities for guests with reduced mobility — worth knowing for multi-generation groups.
Cooking and sleeping for ten
The kitchen is the part to judge carefully. It has the essentials — refrigerator, stovetop, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and a coffee maker under live-edge shelves — but the counter in the photos is compact, closer to a smart kitchenette than a cook’s kitchen. For a group of ten, plan simple meals and lean on the barbecue outside.
Sleeping arrangements aren’t broken down bed by bed in the listing, so check the layout before promising everyone a room of their own. Pets are allowed with possible charges, parking is free but first come, first served, and the listing has no game room or theater: evenings here happen on the deck and in the hot tub.
