It feels like a woodland retreat, yet the Gatlinburg Parkway is only a short drive away and the national park boundary is close by.
That closeness cuts both ways. You get town and trailheads within easy reach, but you also get neighbours — the other treehouses are in plain sight from the deck, so this is shared woodland rather than private acreage.
Timber, glass and a trunk through the porch
The build is the draw. Board-and-batten timber walls, timber doors with keypad locks, and tall black-framed windows wrap a deck that runs around the house, with Adirondack chairs set out under the eaves. The screened porch is the signature: a living tree trunk rises straight through its floor, with a small bistro table beside it for morning coffee.
Inside, pale wood covers the walls and the vaulted ceiling. A leather sofa and a rustic twig armchair face windows full of leaves, and a compact kitchen counter with a coffee maker, microwave and minibar handles breakfasts and simple meals — the barbecue outside takes care of dinner. A flat-screen TV with cable, air conditioning and heating round out the basics.
Four guests, one bathroom, one ladder
The listing counts two bedrooms for up to four guests, but the whole treehouse is small, and the loft is reached by a steep wooden ladder. That suits a couple or a young family comfortably; four adults will be sharing tight quarters and a single bathroom.
The listing doesn’t mention a hot tub, unlike much of the Smokies market — the deck and the porch are the places to linger instead. Pets are allowed, though charges may apply, and parking is free on site but can’t be reserved. Book it for the treehouse experience itself, and go in expecting a charming compact stay rather than a roomy cabin.
