What that focus buys you is a cabin that isn’t trying to be everything. It’s a couples’ retreat with a clear idea of itself, and it commits to it rather than hedging toward the family market. If you’re travelling as two, that clarity is the appeal.
The hot tub earns top billing
The standout is the screened porch and the hot tub inside it. Slatted wood wraps the tub on two sides, open enough to let the trees and the light in, closed enough to keep the soak private — and steam rising off the water against dark wood is exactly the picture the cabin sells. Guests single it out more than anything else, and it’s the reason the place works as a romantic base rather than just another rental.
Indoors, the mood holds. A pool table takes up one end of the open living room, a fireplace warms the other, and there are board games for the evenings you don’t feel like heading back down the Parkway. The kitchen is a proper one, with an oven, dishwasher and laundry, so you can cook in and stay put. It’s a small footprint, but every corner of it is pulling toward the same easy, stay-in evening.
Small, single-level, and made for two
Be clear-eyed about the size. This is one bedroom, and the extra sleeping is a sofa bed in the living room — fine for a small overflow, but nobody should book Love Shack expecting to house a group in comfort. The whole draw is intimacy, and the walls come in quickly if you ask it to do more.
A couple of details are worth checking before you book. The listing credits the property with a swimming pool on top of the private hot tub, but it doesn’t appear in the chalet’s own facilities, so treat it as a shared or community feature and confirm access with the host. On the plus side, the entire unit sits on the ground floor, so there are no stairs or loft ladders to negotiate — a quiet advantage that not every cabin in these hills can claim. Go in knowing it’s compact, and the trade lands squarely in favour of a couple who just want the porch, the tub and each other.
